The Price of Gas During the Holidays

Oil is something everyone needs in this world. We need it for powering cars and powering planes. The price of oil is staggering sometimes here in Canada where it can reach over $1.10 a liter. That number can sometimes increase over the holidays where gas stations expect suckers to fill up over the holidays.

Currently oil is at a two year high. Currently the US looks worried at what would happen if oil reaches over $100 US a barrel. Currently it's at $91 US a barrel so we're getting close. Our Arab partners aren't making more oil to make the price go down because they think that increased demand will make people not want oil anymore and will drive down demand and oil prices. Well I may not be in America, but we Canadians don't like high gas prices a lot especially when a our neighbors get more for their buck.

Canadians already get high gas prices, but it gets worse during the holidays. The price could sometimes ever reach $1.20 a liter for gas. They just want to grasp the people who will probably be going to visit friends or going across the border shopping. So far people are trying to not fill up. They are trying to avoid a fill up or go across the border to do so. In Seattle, Washington the price is $0.84 a liter. In Chicago it can get to $0.82 a liter. In Boston it's $0.80 a liter. This may be so, but the rising price of crude oil is not the problem here.

Well so may be it, our local gas stations are wanting more for their oil. Hoping to snatch more profits over the holidays they increase the price.

The Fight Between North and South Korea

North Korea and South Korea are still at war. South Korea did a military exercise at the island where the dispute about the two sides border began. Is South Korea trying to threaten North Korea or are they afraid. All I can say is the war has began.

While South Korea was doing a military drill, North Korea retaliated. North Korea was threatening war if one of these were to happen again. North Korea turned this drill into a violent battle. People who have visited North Korea like Bill Richardson say North Korea is like a tinderbox. He says the US should give the North an option to strip away it's nuclear weapons in return for survival.

North Korea and South Korea are head to head in the military. North Korea may have the more man power with over 1 million man power with South Korea's 600,000. They also got more submarines and missiles, but the South have more fighter jets and US troops. The big factor is the budget. The North has a 5 billion budget while the South has a 25 billion dollar budget.

Will this threaten war? We may never know, but we may have to wait and see.

The Lululemon Recalled Bags

Lululemon has voluntarily recalled it's reusable bags after it showed that there were high contents of lead in there that made recycling the bag toxic to the environment. If this affects human health and safety is not known as they refused to comment.

At the moment there are many reusable bags. Many of the ones you bought from superstores probably have a high lead content because of where there made from. These bags pose a risk to the environment. Specialists say if you want to know if your bag has high lead toxins, ask them these questions. Does the bag have lead? Where is it made? What is it created from? This is because some countries like China have lead in their ink which may lead to a high lead content in bags.

Lululemon currently won't say where their bags are made from. This hasn't made people worried and this will probably be over soon.

The Alberta Oil Sands

The Alberta Oil Sands is where Canada gets it's oil from. This is probably the worst ways to get oil from the Earth. Extracting the oil from the oil sands takes a ton of carbon already in addition to the carbon you'll waste burning it, but that's not the problem. The problem is it's effect on nature in the area.

Last fall a study showed fish in Fort McMurray were poisoned. The fish apparently was deformed and toxic compared to normal ones. The government boasts about its world class monitoring system that's supposed to prevent these things from happening. This lead to another study by an independent panel, formed by the Alberta government, about the people that are supposed to monitor the oil sands. A group was monitored by scientists about how they were monitoring the sands. The scientists concluded that there was no leadership, no coordination, and bluntly no success.

Currently the government is given pressure to clean up from it's partners like the US. The panel recommended the study above to see the impact of the oil sands on the environment, but not just the carbon impact.

Canada's Economy: It's not great.

Canada, a country that welcomes immigrants and refugees from around the world and a country with freedom and a great atmosphere. Yet when I take Canada into economics, it doesn't do well on my list. Canada may be the best economy in the G7, but don't see that for too long.

Previously the Bank of Canada minister issued a warning. He said we have more debt than our equity. This should have brought a warning to all to be more careful with their money, but are we? We may have tighter lending laws, but is it useful? The US had bad lending laws and banks lent money to anyone without researching them. Look at Canada, our unemployment rate is 8%, which is high. Also, many Canadians aren't going to be able to pay their mortgage if one goes out of work or if interest rates go up. What does that tell you? Well, it says that people get qualified before, but can't make the payments later. Isn't that like the US only with a delay. Lets take Lehman Brothers as an example. They sold companies at a discount and bought them back at a higher price. At first it was a profit, but it swallowed and destroyed the company didn't it?

Canada also doesn't have much to offer to the world. Look at our logging industry, we have it but nobody is buying. Banking, forget about it how would they survive if Canada increased interest rates from the lowest rate in years. Mining, at least there's some hope there until gold collapses soon. Medical, what do we have there? We have a low number of drug or research companies. The list could go on forever and with Canada having a low money supply and a high deficit. I think it's safe to say its only a matter of time.

Lets look at housing for a moment. People borrowing money that they know they can't pay back if interest rates were to rise. A bubble in markets like Vancouver and Toronto. The average home price at $344,000. Interest rates at all time lows, I think we get the picture. The housing market is at a bubble right now. The federal government has created it and is trying to stop it from popping, but it will devastatingly. The bubble will pop like how people said the Dot-com bubble would't pop or how banks were too big to fail in the US and the US housing market. They said it wasn't possible, but it happened. They tried to stop it, but it happened. How about Japan? They had a bubble and they barely borrow money to buy anything. They save money rather than Canadians and Americans. Look at their housing market, it collapsed too. Yet Canadian analysts say it's not possible, but what happens if the TSX would crash 200 points in one day. What if the Bank of Canada rose interest rates? What would happen analysts? What would happen!

They say it's impossible to try and trick you into spending more to sustain the economy. Canada could've crashed earlier and not be in such a big mess than if it were to crash now. Look it interest rates rose, the housing market would be full of foreclosures. People aren't saving a lot anymore and more people are out of work to pay their bills and mortgages and are taking a lot of debt. People try to lie to themselves saying it's a good investment without thinking of the side effects.

If the crash were to happen, it would've happened earlier as Canada wouldn't have hit hard. The harder you fall, the more you lose than to have done it earlier in life or history. It's the same with economics.

Should We Put A Price on the Polar Bear

The polar bear is an amazing bear for all of us to see. It's white and shiny fur makes it unique and endangered. This bear lives in the arctic north which makes it vulnerable to global warming. Yet, should we demote the bear to a price. Well thats what the Canadian government is doing.

The government has sent EcoResources Consultants to go tally up the cost of protecting the bear. This will help the government to determine whether or not the government should protect the polar bear or not. In essence they're trying to see how much a polar bear would cost to the economy. This might be good, in my opinion, it will show the government that the polar bear is important and has a value with only 15,000 left in Canada. If we don't do this, what will happen when everyone forgets about the polar bear? Won't there be a zero dollar price tag for it then?

Currently the bear is not protected in Canada, but not all are keen to this idea. In the meantime EcoResources has until February 2011 to present it's report telling the government whether it should protect it or not.

The So-Called Wikileaks War

Wikileaks is a site with a purpose like any other: to allow whistle-blowers to release their information confidentially. Wikileaks previously wasn't a popular site until the release of many cables by Julian Assange that gained worldwide attention apparently.
Since the release of the latest cables the world has come to look at Wikileaks in a bad way. US diplomats are calling Assange a terrorist and is planning to use his site for terrorism. This came forth after the cable which showed the US having people spy on countries like Russia, Iran, and Canada. Assange released the cable and others possibly to show the world is corrupt and not as pretty as most hope to perceive it to be. Assange is said to be facing charges or espionage, but all he does is make documents available. The main leaker's are soldiers who are now warned by the government to not use any CD's, memory sticks, or DVD's.
A group named Anonymous is trying to combat the US, by saying Wikileaks is something that is needed. The either shut down temperarily or slowed down sites like Mastercard, Visa, Paypal, and Moneybookers. Apparently it has changed it's focus to now trying to release all the cables that Assange hasn't done yet. A "so-called" member told the world it has changed it's focus as apparently the sites aren't having the impact they want to happen.
Assange is currently in prison facing charges of espionage and sex charges. Assange is computerless and unable to release the cables. Now everyone must be thinking, why not shut this site down? Well this site is hosted in Sweden by PRQ, a controversial hosting service founded by Pirate Bay founders. The reason is simple: Sweden has protective laws for journalists which prevent Wikileaks from being shutdown.
Wikileaks to me is not something the world should wash away, but embrace. Wikileaks has shown that the world is not as pure as you think and what may be a smile, may have the devil's heart.

How iTunes Could Improve With Competition

iTunes is the most widely used music service in North America and probably the world. The service has a 80% market share with it's iTunes store. The iTunes store is growing and will soon throw competitors off the racks of shelves. The question is: Why hasn't anyone challenged it?
The iTunes Store has a scot free almost no competition streak. The only competitors are Napster and Rhapsody which are only music not like the all in one iTunes Store package. iTunes has been hard to beat with Apple's power and the fact that they have okay quality music for a reasonable price. The only times a competitor would improve is because of competition like the situation in Canada where wireless carriers are fighting for customers like there's no tomorrow with Bell, Telus and Rogers yanking their throats with unbelievable deals not seen before. Now lets look at iTunes. Previously it offered low quality music at the same price, but that changed thanks to BitTorrent. The site OiNK's Pink Palace used to offer high quality music in all formats at the highest bit rates in each format. When it got shut down, iTunes quickly increased the bitrate of their music and made it DRM free.

That doesn't explain why a new company shouldn't take the crown away. What's shocking is that iTunes hasn't changed much over the years that is worth noticing. Ever since OiNK it's stayed the same. iTunes needs a new competitor, but it's not getting one. I believe a new service can work out the things companies won't do so they can maximize profits. Now, I'm sounding all Mao Zedong-ish but lets think about the people for a second. If we don't give them what they want won't there be rebellion. If something legal like OiNK started, then there wouldn't be such thing, would there. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails was a member and said at the time of closure "I admit I had an account there and frequented it quite often. At the end of the day, what made Oink a great place was that it was like the world's greatest record store. Pretty much anything you could imagine, it was there, and it was in the format you wanted. If Oink cost anything, I would certainly have paid, but there isn't the equivalent of that in the retail space right now." He criticized services like iTunes for being poor and low-quality.

The question is when will we see change. Not so likely. I want to lead that change. Nothing in this world is perfect, but we can make it close enough to call it perfect.

What Will Happen To Desktops and Laptops?

Mobile devices are everywhere. In fact I see them everywhere, teens with iPhone 4's or Samsungs or other brands. They're everywhere, but it makes stop to think, where will all the desktops and laptops go if they're unpopular anymore? Their going away fast is what I can say.
The mobile industry is probably one of the fastest growing industry in the world. Many people own a smartphone of some brand and probably have an expensive "non-unlimited" plan attached to it. Apple made this industry go boom after RIM created it. Apple is what we call the game changer. Whatever they make is what is generally what people will buy. They have made Macs that nobody really thinks about, but then comes the iPhone and the iPad. These are the two things that most people think can do things just like a PC. They can do things like word processing, e-mail, and all sorts of things.
Have we evolved from the laptop or desktop. I believe we have unfortunately. These types of computers shall go away eventually to make shelf for the new just like the VHS and DVD that got replace by Blu-ray. Home computers is not somebody goes buying anymore, it's either the new iPhone or the hottest tech gadgets that look cool and awesome not laptops or desktops.
The industry has evolved don't you think. The world is not as simple anymore thanks to Apple that has released year after year iPhone's that are somehow better and more worth to buy especially with the upgrade option.
Is the smartphone better than the PC, well lets look at the modern day user. The modern day user would probably just surf the web and go on YouTube and all that. You can do that on a smartphone and a PC. You may also want to play a game or two. Both options are available. You want to write or make a blog post: both are possible. You want something portable: smartphone wins.
So who is the real winner: the smartphone of course. The smartphone in my opinion has enough to satisfy the common day user and I believe as things progress things get better fast, especially since everything changes like every year or month nowadays.

The Tablet Wars Have Begun - Who Will You Root For?

The tablet wars have begun with Apple and the iPad. The question is which is better. Apple has got its easy interface and loyal customer base. Google has got their open source linux initiative and their freedom for users. RIM has nothing worth looking at though in my opinion so it's down to the iPad and Google.
The iPad is what is called a computer miracle. It has launched a new industry of personal computers that was ventured and unsuccessful previously. Apple's success is probably due to it's clean interface and easy usability. The iPad was something nobody expected to be a big sucess, but few did as Apple did with the iPhone in the past. The iPad's iOS is closed source which is not what everyone wants, but we all run Windows 7 and Mac OS X which are both closed source and are still wonders right. The thing that probably drags the iPad are the plans offered, but consumers don't mind. Look at the iPad it can do everything your PC can do in a more portable fashion! This is Apple's message to consumers technically. The iPad was the starter, but nobody ever said it was the winner.
Soon after Apple's success came Google. Google launched Android and currently is the second in world mobile OS consumption. It may have fewer apps than Apple, but people appreciate it that it's open source and that Google accepts offers that Apple turns away and shames, only to later want it back desperately like the Adobe Flash incident on iPhones, iPads, and MacBook Airs. Google didn't, but that doesn't make Google a winner either. Google's interface is not the most easiest to use in the world. The word goes: Apple is for consumers, Google is for nerds or patient people.
Google and Apple go head to head everyday finding ways to dominate the mobile market yet they don't always succeed like Apple's iPhone 4 problem and Google's tablet incompatibility. The victor is not set in stone. Google's winning, but nobody knows. As the saying goes, it ain't over till it's over!

iPiracy - The World May Actually Need It

I am planning to launch a site on internet piracy or iPiracy for short. Here I will talk about how internet piracy is good in some ways. An example is OiNKs Pink Palace.
OiNK was created a few years ago as a music only torrent site. The site was private and had high quality music songs of every format you could imagine from MP3 to OGG. The songs were also in higher quality than what you could get at iTunes at the time. This marked a shift as people proved that they weren't going to pay for something with poor quality and DRM with it as well. OiNK eventually grew and grew until the US government came in. They shut it down, but all was not lost. iTunes eventually increased their music quality, but didn't have every format you could ever think of, nope that is something Apple didn't do.
Another one was the Pirate Bay. The Pirate Bay was the worlds largest torrent site with the most members and torrents indexed compared to other torrent trackers. The Pirate Bay got into trouble recently. They shut down their tracker and their founders and funder were sent to jail for intellectual property infringement aka copyright infringement. Nothing came out though from this.
What makes me mad is that why don't we stop iPiracy by making things better and cheaper. I mean if we did it with cars how come we can't do it with piracy. Some people do it because they don't want to pay, but some people do it because the stuff they can buy is not worth their money. Would you want a lower version for 99 cents or a higher quality for a dollar. It's your choice.
I believe in paying, but that doesn't mean people can abuse that. I believe that if piracy were to be gone, you would need to make the things people download cheaper or more worth their buck then right now where internet piracy is going up, not down.

An Invention With Flaws Like Any Other - The Car

The car is something we use everyday. It's an invention like any other that has flaws as nothing is perfect in the world, even humans. Cars have been around and revolutionized some things and have changed things, most notably the climate. Here's one thing: the car has become a helper and a killer.

The car has also made getting things easier. Say you buy groceries, you would buy a lot if you had a car since it would be easy getting them home, but if you had to walk or take the bus then how much could you buy? The car has made life easier in a way, not completely but I have to give credit to the car for that one.

It has brought new ways of transportation. It has made the global world work together on something. Take Bombardier for example. It's parts are mostly made worldwide with assembly in Montreal. Some of the parts are made in China which is far away from the Atlantic ocean where Montreal is near. Guess how the parts will get here, by boat and truck to be delivered to Bombardier to assemble it's new C series of planes. Another example is going to a friends house. Say your house is in Vancouver and their's is in Seattle. It would be almost impossible to visit them without a car as who would walk the distance?

Well now lets look at the cons, I think there's lots, but I'll only mention two.

The car and the cell have brought together: impaired driving. People sometimes text or make calls while they drive, you know who you are. Sometimes you may get a lucky break, other times you won't. People die when they're not paying attention to anything especially driving where accidents can cause you your life just because of a phone call.

Liquor has been with us since the dawn of human being time. It has some effects though like making somebody more dumb and making them drowsy and not aware of what they're doing especially driving. Drinking and driving is not only the most dangerous thing to do, but it is also the most expensive thing to do with added fees to your insurance because of one time of drinking and driving and maybe getting your license revoked for a month or so. Would you do this? The answer is unknown, but I hope you don't.

The car is not perfect as nothing is perfect in this world, and I am glad that it is that way. This way humans have a purpose and we live our lives till we're old. Sometimes smart people believe life is worth nothing and suicide because they think it's perfect, but they don't know something: life will never be perfect, it'll always change, but they could help us adapt to change if they didn't suicide. All I can say is don't make stupid choices in life as life is not perfect, but that doesn't mean life isn't worth living.

My Review of Blogger

Blogger is a blog posting site. You post stuff that's on your mind and you post it on the web which is very simple. It is simple and it is easy sometimes. Here is my true review non-bias review of blogger which I have been using for a while to know some of the gizmo's. Blogger is not perfect, but I believe it's okay for a free service in my opinion.

Blogger is not simple, it' like MS Word. Blogger's blog format is easy and simple to use sometimes. What I want to see done is to make it more user controlled rather than automated. Sometimes when I upload a photo it may glitch or something bad may happen. The worst thing that could happen is the whole thing just ruining my text and making me redoing the post. I did a post the other day and Blogger just wasted my time.

Blogger doesn't make my pictures the way I want it to be. Sometimes I would like the text in between text and it doesn't happen. Instead it puts it at the top where the size doesn't match and it just looks plain ugly. A good example is my Blackberry Playbook post where pictures didn't turn out to be ideal. Sorry my audience. Things don't always go out as planned so I'm looking for more services.

I hope a Blogger technician will read this and try to help. I hope you can get YouTube Integration smooth soon so it'll be easier, but that is all. I'm Out.

Companies Tweeting and Facebooking For You?

Twitter and Facebook are great ways to meet your old friends and have fun and all that stuff and a good place to find good deals. Thats right, deals. Companies like GM or small businesses offer coupons for anyone who manages to get them off Twitter or Facebook. THESE companies do this for your money and I must say, it works.

GM is something that is benefiting. Dealers tweet coupons for followers who then snatch them and book appointments. One dealer reported $13000 of profit from one 10% off maintenance which is just to show how powerful sites like Twitter of Facebook are to people. They take advantage of people like us on the web who strive for good deals on the web especially for us Canadians where rips are more likely to come by.

The only reason: they want your attention. It's simple. None of today's tactics bring as much money as the web. The web has spawned new business and new money opportunities like Twitter and Facebook. Not all businesses do it this way,but some do. Just like me, only mines isn't really for profit. The most I would do is say products that are interesting.

The final thing: take advantage of these opportunities. These companies want your business so give it to them. Not all of them succeed, but heres my quote
"If life were perfect then life shouldn't exist at all for thou no meaning"-HuluJ

Would You Hide Money In A Swiss Bank Account?

The Swiss are known for their secrecy. They'll hide anything including what you have in your bank account. Heck, they won't even ask where you got the money from which is a big + for anyone who wants to avoid the tax man, but really is it worth it as the Swiss can't really guarantee it anymore.
Last week a man named Falcinani hacked into HSBC Private Bank's computers in Geneva to expose the accounts there. He hacked the own system he was paid to protect as he believed criminals were hiding their money there and believed it was very wrong. Currently the Swiss are mad and want the info back. Well, they got a copy back and the French kept the original. At least, they gave it back and coughed it to other countries including Britain, Italy, and Canada. Falcinani is currently in Niche, France under protection from the French even though the Swiss want him in Swiss jail. He is not afraid of death, but it is possible for what he has done.

These kinds of things are illegal and should be changed, but they aren't. Big companies like Credit Suisse, HSBC, and UBS are all coughing up accounts. Some are through hacks and some are voluntarily. Take UBS which gave up names of thousands of offshore account names of people trying to avoid the taxman. Yet is it worth it as some countries might not be as generous as the French, who only required the owed taxes be payed back, but it is unknown how the other countries take it.

The Swiss are not secret anymore, we know that fact. There are white knight hackers in this world who want to make change, but in order to make that change you have to get help from outsiders which sometimes means breaking the law even if it;s for a good change.

Does the iPad Now Have A Competitor From RIM?

RIM has just recently announced their newest competitor to the Apple iPad, the Playbook. The Playbook is just what RIM needs to catch on to the tablet hype, but will it take away Apple's loyalty base as many people already own an iPad and are planning on buying iPad 2. So far this has met all I have been asking for that has been missing in the iPad which includes a 2 cameras and an HDMI dock and more.
Specs:
  • 7-inch LCD, 1024 x 600, WSVGA, capacitive touch screen with full multi-touch and gesture support
  • BlackBerry Tablet OS with support for symmetric multiprocessing
  • 1 GHz dual-core processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Dual HD cameras (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing), supports 1080p HD video recording
  • Video playback: 1080p HD Video, H.264, MPEG, DivX, WMV
  • Audio playback: MP3, AAC, WMA
  • HDMI video output
  • Wi-Fi - 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • Connectors: microHDMI, microUSB, charging contacts
  • Open, flexible application platform with support for WebKit/HTML-5, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Adobe Mobile AIR, Adobe Reader, POSIX, OpenGL, Java
  • Ultra thin and portable:
  • Measures 5.1"x7.6"x0.4" (130mm x 193mm x 10mm)
  • Weighs less than a pound (approximately 0.9 lb or 400g)
  • RIM intends to also offer 3G and 4G models in the future.
So if you look at this, it makes the Apple iPad look like last year and a ripoff for it's price as the iPad is the same as the Playbook, but lacking things like Adobe Flash which is something Android and RIM have embraced, but Apple has shunned even though a lot of sites use Flash. Not only that it has the same specs as the iPad practically, as I call this the iPad clone we've been waiting for, for us in the tech world. RIM has surprised me in this way and I will be definitely be looking at this for the near future as this sounds irresistible just like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab.

RIM's new attempt at trying to get the iPad off the popularity block is a good shot. I think I will buy this tablet as it has everything I want. The only con to me is that it isn't running Android, other than that I would buy it with my hearts content. RIM is doing the right thing and I think because of this Apple will put a little more spunk into the iPad for the price or it;s going to lose it's loyal customers big time.

RIM has attacked the tablet market with features, the only thing I think RIM will try best is the price.

The World Doesn't Need Only iPhone

The iPhone is great and has everything we've ever wanted and desired. There is only one problem: it's limited to carriers that suck and give us rip offs. Well in Canada it's even worse, but I think the US is catching on to us Canadians. There are alternatives that are actually better than the iPhone like this article about the Samsung Galaxy S. The Galaxy S is gaining momentum as with other Android phones, but I think its the only one that can stand up to the iPhone.

The iPhone is going down and I believe the plans are overpriced for the phone itself and you can't get out without a contract. The phone has a few flaws in my opinion and it's not the antenna issue. The iPhone is closed-source while Google is open-source. Not only that more phones run Android and have much more better features and unlimited plans with them like Sprint's Epic 4G or Evo 4G.This gives the world options, options that we're created by Google's acquisition of Android.
The Samsung Galaxy S takes competition to a whole new level. The Galaxy S boasts Super AMOLED screens which the iPhone can't offer. It has a 5mp or was it 8mp camera that can shoot 720p video which is something that the iPhone can only now do. It has 1ghz processor compared to the iPhone's unknown Apple A4 which could be under-clocked. Not only that Android has true multitasking and many different layouts by manufactures which they customize with their own theme's like HTC's Sense.
The iPhone should be going down as Android is getting known all over the world. It's just a matter of time before the iPhone gives up the crown of the number one smartphone to own.

Wind Mobile - A Carrier Worth Mentioning

Wind Mobile is a new wireless carrier in Canada that promises cheaper plans and no contract phones. They currently have service in Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton, etc. They plan to be a nationwide carrier and compete against the Big 3 : Telus, Rogers, and Bell. They are a carrier to look into if you want a cheap deal.

Wind currently has voice plans that are similar, but better to carriers like Fido or Solo Mobile. They have plans starting from $15 and all plans come with unlimited Wind-Wind calling and Call Control (Call Conferencing, Call Display, etc) standard on plans. This is a $10 discount off plans offered by other carriers. They also offer unlimited data and unlimited data laptop add-ons which make Wind cheaper than all of the Big 3 as they stress the words of cheap and reliable.

Wind also has no contracts as a standard. This means you buy the phone and you can use the plan as long as you like and you can quit anytime. You won't be penalized like Rogers or the other carriers with contracts. They let you quit anytime. They have found out that people don't like contracts and they have put that into their conduct.

Wind Mobile is the newest carrier by Globalive. This new company is small now, but I hope it'll make a change in practices and lower prices on the Canadian cellular business.

iPhone 4 and the competition.

Smartphones: The New Generation
Billshrink took a look at how the iPhone 4 is stacked up against it's competition which I can say has a lot more stuff than what the iPhone 4 has to offer. Even though the iPhone 4 looks cheaper, it's not. The competition is actually better in some ways.

HDMI Input - This is a thing that the iPhone 4 doesn't have while competitors like the Evo 4G does. This is something Apple should have added.

Unlimited - I don't think AT&T defined unlimited well. They got rid of unlimited data because of traffic load while competitors still offer them and Sprint's looks good as it's 4G and WiMAX which is way faster than 3G+.

Micro-SD Storage - Everybody loves external storage, except maybe Apple. They still put the storage in the machine. Hello! Micro-SD is better as you can carry different things on the card. This means greater storage.
If you are currently using an iPhone, switch to Android. You won't notice much difference.

Perfect Eyes - For People Who Don't Want Glasses

Perfect Eyes is an eBook by Duke Peterson who is Professor and has dedicated his life to improving the Bates Method of improving eyesight. This eBook is real and is not a fake. It’s not a scam! I have been using it and I can say it works with me, so if you fail, I fail.

Perfect Eyes talk a lot about exercises for the eye and things you can do to make your eyes 20/20. He talk a great deal about exercises and has mentioned about 20 or more of his favorites which I believe are enjoyable and not boring at all. These exercises are not hard to do and in fact easy. He also talks a lot about it and his instructions are clear so you should understand them. Some of his exercises include sunning, palming, and some other ones too. If you want to know more comment away!

He then talks about diets and how diets can powerfully influence your eyesight and how some foods actually make it worse, especially those vegetarians out there who eat tofu. He talks about what you should eat and what actually makes things worse.

What I am giving you is just a brief description of this amazing eBook. What I hope is that it'll change your eyesight too for the better. With that said if you want it click here.

Penny Auction Sites: Not All Are A Scam But They Steal Your Money Legally

There are currently a lots of sites that are penny auctions. These sites promise bargains if you buy bids instead of sites like eBay and there is no time limit as when it goes to 1 second it could bounce back to 16 seconds, because thats how it works, but these sites should be avoided, because they might not actually always save you money.

First, the company always makes a profit from the products it sells. Bids usually cost 60 cents per bid, but they only sell it in a bid package. They won't let you bid until you buy a package. Sometimes winning something like a PS3 or a GPS might take 150-300 bids. Thats about $180 worth of bids + shipping + the cost. This makes the price the same as retail or even more. Sometimes things like an iPhone 4 it can take 2000 bids which cost $1200 in bids and other people who bid. This phone is actually only worth $899 so technically your overpaying for something you thought was cheap.

Second, the bids are sometimes non-refundable. This means if you spend this many bids on this item and you don't win it, you won't get it back. So that means you spent $100 on bids, but got nothing so it isn't it a waste of money. You would have better luck on eBay.
Third, sometimes the site is a fake. Take a site like Swipebids which charges you $39 to register and you don't win anything. The employees bid on the items to prevent you from winning and buying more bids. They want you to get bidding fever. This makes you keep on bidding and the testimonials are from employees, not real customers. These testimonials are fake not real and if you look when it says Swipebids was in the news, it is actually Qubids. Swipebids copied Qubids. Qubids is real, but Swipebids is a real scam.

Penny auctions aren't all that great. You'll probably have a low chance to win anything. I'd rather go on eBay where bidding is free. This means you don't lose anything if you bid. Also it's real, not fake. Penny auctions can be great, if they're real.

The Demise of the iPhone

The iPhone is what you may call as the greatest phone until Google came. Google came and came with multiple manufacturers and open source software which is much better in my opinion to Apple's closed source. Also, there are more Android phones than iPhones and that is why the iPhone will fall.

Android is getting popular. There are more choices and carriers that carry an Android phone compared to AT&T's exclusivity with the iPhone. With more carriers comes more benefits and each Android phone has it's own price ranger which could be cheap or expensive, this gives people more choice.
Second, if analysts say it's going to happen, it's probably going to happen. Analysts say that Android will take 30% of the mobile market leaving Nokia's Symbian at the top by a few measly percents. They also say iPhone will reach 17%,but will go down to 14.9% so would you buy a phone that will be unpopular by 2014?. By 2012 iPhone share will go down anyway, because of Android.

Android is the future and Android is awesome. The iPhone is not what we call as the best as it is limited, but Android made it all better.

Texas Direct Auto- Just Want Your Money

I have read about reviews of Texas Direct Auto, an eBay Auto Merchant who supposedly has lots of good reviews right, wrong! Texas Direct Auto actually forces buyers to post good comments, but not all the cars they sell are good. Some look even worse than the pictures they post on the web. Here's why you shouldn't buy a car from them without flying there yourself.
First, they require you to pay a deposit that is non-refundable. The deposit is for the test drive and if you want the car, but it is non-refundable. Even though this is said, this is what sucks as you usually get it back.
Second, the sellers hate you. The representative who was with some of the people who reviewed said that the they were bullshit and that their manager was a dick. They say they don't care about the buyer at all, just your money and if you will buy it or not.
Third, the car may look different than what you think. Usually if someone does not post a lot of pictures of a car, that means they're hiding something. Texas Direct Auto sometimes doesn't post a lot of pictures on all their car ads. This could mean they were hiding something or the sales person was too lazy. One time this guy wanted a Ford Escape, but when he got there it was all scratched up and looked liked it had rain damage. Look it up: texas direct auto sucks.
Overall don't buy from them without knowing consequences and believe me, I'll stick to local brand-name dealers for now.

Apple TV - The Thing That Will Replace Your DVD Player

Steve Jobs debuted the new Apple TV or iTV on September 1st with the new refreshed iPod lineup. This new Apple TV boasts it's $99 price and it's Apple A4 processor, but something is missing from this new Apple TV, the hard drive. The new Apple TV is all streaming from iTunes and your computer. Apple is making another move into replacing your DVD player.
Apple wants to take the second place in your home theater, the DVD/Blu-Ray spot instead of Google TV. Google TV will take the DVR spot as Entillegence reports. Apple is making the secondary move because the first spot will be harder to take. Do you think companies like Rogers or DirecTV will give up the profit they make by selling TV equipment, of course not! This will be a tough battle for Google, so Apple took the easier one and will be more successful with it. This is because there is less competition or dominance for the market so it'll be easier to take.
Second, it'll be a big-seller for sure. Apple is slow at first, by limiting features to a device at first it makes it interesting later. Now Apple just released the new Apple TV just like the iPhone it will eventually roll out an app marketplace and will become what the iPhone has become just for home theater though. This will make it more popular and will help Apple conquer that market.
Apple's new Apple TV signals Apple's return to the home theater market. Though this may be a bold attempt it is not one to be taken in vain as we will never know the outcome yet.
